1 packet of Norplant Contraceptive Levonorgestrel Implants, contains 1 set of 6 subdermal implants to provide continuous contraception up to 5 years

A contraceptive implant is a small, thin capsule containing the hormone Levonorgestrel. This is inserted under the skin of the upper arm. The hormone is slowly released to provide continuous contraceptive cover for up to five years. This procedure is done under local anaesthetic by a physician. The insert can be removed at any time and normal fertility resumes. The pack was made by Roussel Laboratories Limited. It contains six sub-dermal implants. It was manufactured under the brand name ‘Norplant’.
