Emily Anne Eliza Shirreff (3 November 1814 – 20 March 1897) was a pioneer in the movement for the higher education of women. She was Hon. Sec. and a member of the central committee of the Women's Education Union. she also pioneered development of the Froebelian principles in England. The sister of Mrs William Grey. Second chairwoman of the Fröbel society. Wrote 'The Kinder-Garten, Principles of Frobel's System' published in 1864, and many other books.
