Tanner, Henry 1826 - 1897
Professor Henry Tanner (1826-4 June 1897) wrote 'First Principles of Agriculture' and was a Fellow of the Chemical Society. He was also a professor at the of the Royal Agricultural College and at the Science and Art Department, South Kensington. He was engaged on a temporary basis in 1878 at University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, to give a course of lectures on agriculture, which helped to establish it on its curriculum. He also made several visits to Canada between 1883 and 1896 examining agricultural practice there.
