Addresses on the principles of agriculture
Lecture on the principles of agricultural science and science instruction, delivered at The Science Schools, Reigate, October 5th 1880. 'A large and influential meeting of farmers and others interested in Agriculture, convened by the Agricultural Society, was held at the Public Hall, Reigate', where this address was delivered. Tanner summarises the three 'circumstances' he wants to draw attention to: 'First, a more distinct recognition of what is meant by agricultural science or the principles of agriculture. Secondly, the increased facilities for obtaining such instruction. Thirdly, the serious difficulties which now surround the practice of agriculture'. Printed in Cirencester by G. H. Harmer in 1880.
