York chamber of agriculture. Agricultural education in village schools

Reprinted from the "York Daily Herald" of January 7th, 1881. A paper given by Richard Thompson, Sheriff of York, in front of a meeting of the members of the York Chamber of Agriculture at the Queen's Hotel, Micklegate, York, at which Mr. Smith, Huggate, presided. He argues for agricultural teaching in elementary schools and for it to become a 'specific subject', leading to higher teaching as well as elementary. Printed in York by Coultas and Volans in 1880.
