Booklet with cover. This is a comparison of elementary and secondary education in Germany, Switzerland (and Paris); the result of a fact-finding mission to those countries undertaken by members of the Keighley Institute Committee - John Brigg, John Clough, E.D.A. Marriner, Swire Smith (who later worked on the RCTI) and L.C. Miall. "Private schools are few in Germany, and not in the best repute. They are exclusively attended by the children of rich parents, and are largely supported by English, American or Russian families." Includes outlines for the school systems in these countries, details of how classrooms and laboratories are laid out for individual subjects, the state of education in England and recommendations for improvements. "That in London alone 80,039 children requiring elementary education, and without excuse for absence, do not attend school." Printed in Leeds by McCorquodale & Co. 32 pages. 215mm x 140mm. One copy signed by Gilbert Redgrave.
