Manuscript letter on headed notepaper from H. Scott, Richmond & Co., 30, Paternoster Square, London, E.C. to G.R. Redgrave, dated 16 March 1882. Scott notes his 'considerable experience as a designer for many decorative fabrics and wall papers' and argues 'that commerce and art do not agree so completely as sisters should do!' He offers his services in helping the commission understand the difficulties faced in the improvement of artistic matters in his trade. Signed by H. Scott (manufacturer of fabric and wallpaper, and supplier to William Morris).
