A lecture on industry and art

Delivered at The Technical College, Bradford on 5th March, 1883. Describes technical education in France and Germany. Criticises the lack of technical education of England, describing how 'we have long witnessed the humiliating spectacle of an annual exodus of the best and brightest of our youths for foreign Universities, Polytechnic schools, and Technical Colleges' as it is well known that abroad 'a much better education, both technical and artistic, can be obtained than in England' (page 5). Sections on France, Germany, the Textile Industry, Italy. Printed in London by W H Allen and Co, 13 Waterloo Place, Pall Mall, S.W., in 1883.
