Montague Radio Inventions and Development Co., Ltd. were most well known for their Beethoven portable radio sets of the 1920s and 1930s. From 1930, they were based at the Beethoven Works, 24 Great College Street, London, NW1, presumably where they got the brand name for their radios.

Following the Second World War, they began to focus on the manufacture of television sets and, in 1960, they were owned by Outram (Investments) Ltd, a subsidiary of Loyds Retailers Ltd.
