Lala Deen Dayal 1844 - 1910

Indian photographer with studios in Indore, Mumbai and Hyderbad; born in Sardhana, Uttar Pradesh; trained as engineer and draughtsman before taking up photography in 1866; founded 'Lala Deen Dayal & Sons' in 1868; photographed the Royal Tour of the Prince and Princess of Wales, 1875-1876; 1885 appointed photographer to Viceroy of India; appointed court photographer to sixth Nizam of Hyderabad, Mahbub Ali Khan, Asif Jah VI, 1886; founded 'Raja Deen Dayal & Sons' in Hyderabad, 1886; appointed as photographer to Queen Victoria 1887; accompanied the Royal Tour of the Prince and Princess of Wales, 1905-1906.
