Made the most remarkable voyage in the history of fishing boats when it sailed from Penzance to Melbourne between 1854 and 1855 with seven crew.
1847 - built in Newlyn, Cornwall. 1854 - set sail for Melbourne, Australia. 1855 - anchored in Hobson's Bay, Melbourne after 115 days and 12,000 miles. 'Mystery' was sold almost immediately upon arrival for £150 and renamed 'De Novo' and used as a Pilot cutter. 1869 - wrecked on Halftide Rock at Keppel Bay. 2008 - Pete Goss built a replica of the lugger, calling her 'Spirit of Mystery'. He also replicated the original voyage, arriving in Australia in 2009.
