William Johnson was a scientist who joined the Royal Aircraft Establishment in 1954, first as a laboratory assistant and Experimental Officer, and later Principal Scientific Officer. Along with William Watt and Leslie N Phillips, one of the patentees of the production process for Carbon Fibre developed in the 1960s at RAE Farnborough. G.B.
