Traded Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Georg Merz (d.1867) leaves business to sons Sigmund & Ludwig. Sigmund becomes director. After Sigmund dies, cousins Jakob and Matthias Merz assumed business in 1883, sell it in 1903 to Paul Zschokke, former director of Steinheil. Zschokke d. 1932, company bankrupted but continued until WWII by employees Georg Tremel and August Loesch.
