Geroge Graham (c.1673-1751) was a renowned maker of clocks, watches and scientific instruments. He joined Thomas Tompion's workshop and married his niece, Elizabeth, in September 1704. When Tompion died in 1713, George and Elizabeth inherited his workshop. Graham introduced the cylinder escapement to watches and supplied highly accurate astronomical instruments to European observatories. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1721.
