1924 - Allied Newspapers consortium founded by William Ewert Berry, Gomer Berry and Sir E. M. Iliffe. Acquired many newspapers including: acquired the Sunday Times and the Manchester Evening Chronicle. 1937 - Lord Kemsley becomes Sunday Times proprietor. 1943 - changes name to Kemsley Newspapers. 1959 - Kemsley Newspapers is finally broken up.
