Toy and camera manufacturer, based in Manhattan, active late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries; Carl P Stirn bought the rights in 1886 to produce a unique kind of vest pocket camera, the Concealed Vest Camera, invented by Robert D Gray; C P Stirn also produced panoramic and stereo cameras; Carl's brother Rudolph Stirn manufactured the miniature cameras in Berlin, and they were sold in the United States and Canada through the company of Stirn & Lyons.
