Radio Rentals 1930 - 2000

Founded 1930 by Percy Perring-Tomas in Brighton, renting out radios and latter televisions and video recorders; acquired 'Baird Television' brand in 1962; merged with RentaSet in 1964; acquired 1968 by Thorn Electricals Ltd merging with Thorn's DER to become Thorn Television Rentals (TTR), though the companies continued to be run seperately; in 1980 both became part of Thorn-Emi; ceased trading in 2000 when acquired by Grenada Ltd to become boxclever; still trades as Radio Rentals in Australia (2014)
