Edwin H Land founded Land-Wheelwright Laboratories in 1932, company renamed Polaroid Corporation in 1937; most famous for development and production of polarized sunglasses and instant camera; also early producer of digital cameras in 1996; failed to adapt to the new video and digital camera market and filed for bankruptcy in 2001; 'old' assets sold to One Equity Partners (OEP), then changing its name to Polaroid Holding Company (PHC); these assets held by an administrative 'shell' known as Primary PDC Inc Trade name continues to be used to market instant film photography, digital camera, televisions etc. by PLR IP Holdings, ILC
