Booklet [parts of several]. Tyne locomotive & text. "Views on the Newcastle upon Tyne & Carlisle Railway" from drawings by J.W. Carmichael with descriptions by J. Blackmore, Engineer to the Company. 1837.Cover has lithograph of the locomotive "Tyne" hauling passenger carriage and open goods cart. Two workmen nearby with crane hoist and goods to load. Handwritten note - Presented to the Carlisle Literary and Philosophical Society by the Directors of the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway. 1st copy includes page one - dedication of drawings by John Blackmore. 2nd copy has page 1 and page 2 - Address - about the railway. 3rd copy - cover only. Price of booklet 5s.
