30 black and white slides of the illustrations used by G. H. D. Mackie of Inverurie Workshops in his report "Impressions of British Railway Workshops" (for a copy of the report see 2004-7907). The slides illustrate various repair processes in locomotive, carriage and wagon shops, as well as forms, arrangement of workshops in locomotive, carriage and wagon departments, etc. The workshops shown in the slides are not identified.

Typed script of lecture "Activities in British Railway Workshops - Shildon Works" by G. H. D. Mackie, April 1964. G. H. D. Mackie worked at Inverurie Workshops, and this lecture was probably written in conjunction with his larger report "Impressions of British Railway Workshops" (2004-7907). The lecture describes the Shildon Wagon Works, its relation to the rest of the BR network and the shops at Shildon and their repair work. The lecture was illustrated with slides. 9pp. 14.0551 x 9.0157 in.

Mackie's lecture on Shildon of April 1964 (2004-7910) and the illustrations for his report "Impressions of British Railways Workshops" (2004-7909).

43 colour plastic-mounted and 7 black and white glass slides used by G. H. D. Mackie for his lecture "Activities in British Railway Workshops - Shildon Works" of April 1964 (for a copy of the script see 2004-7908). The slides illustrate the British Railways network, Shildon's place within the network, the layout of the works, interior views of the workshops, various repair and construction processes, "before and after" pictures of wagons requiring repair, examples of wagons constructed at Shildon, "Operation Face-Lift" to improve the works, etc. The lecture was probably written in conjunction with Mr. Mackie's larger report "Impressions of British Railway Workshops" (2004-7907). At the time he wrote the lecture, Mr. Mackie appears to have been working at Inverurie Workshops.

1960s

Report "Impressions of British Railway Workshops" by G. H. D. Mackie of Inverurie Workshops. The report examines locomotive, carriage and wagon operations and is illustrated with black & white photographs stuck to the pages. The report also formed the basis of a lecture - a set of slides was made of the illustrations (2004-7909), and Mr. Mackie's lecture on Shildon Works of April 1964 (2004-7908) was probably given in conjunction with this report. 48pp.
