Acquatint, hand coloured, Excavation of Olive Mount, 4 miles from Liverpool, drawn by Thomas Talbot Bury and engraved by H Pyall, 1831. Depicts the construction of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway at Edge Hill. A locomotive hauls a train of wagons filled with spoil on a steep sided cutting, as a train on the opposite track recedes into the distance. High above navvies hack at the rock with pickaxes.
