White ceramic plate depicting Taiwanese electric loco pulling several goods vans emerging from tunnel. Beneath the image is the legend "24th February 1978". Legend in upper half of the plate reads "Inauguration of Taiwan Railway Electrification". Legend in lower half of plate reads "GEC Transportation Projects Ltd. England." All inscriptions are in gold lettering and in English and Chinese. The company logos of GEC and Taiwan Railway are both reproduced in blue, the former to the left of the central image the latter to the right (as viewed). An outline of the project managed by GEC supply is printed in red on the back of the plate in both English and Chinese. Transfer printed and gilded.
