Very small gold and enamel watch by Milleret & Tissot, Geneva, Switzerland, 1830 - 1840. Gold case decorated in green guilloche enamel with a rose painted in enamel over the top. The case edge and bezel are decorated with red and white enamel. Silver dial with gold looped hands. With attached matching gold and enamel chain and winding key. Movement of eight-day duration, with cylinder escapement. Signed 'Milleret & Tissot. Geneva' on the cuvette. Bequethed to the museum of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers by the Reverand Henry Nelthropp. Clockmakers' Museum No. 364.

Very small gold and enamel watch by Milleret & Tissot, Geneva

1800-1825

Two seals mounted on ivory handles. The first seal is made of cornelian and set in a silver gilt mount. The second is cut in silver. Also, a cotton bag in which they would have been stored. In the same inventory listing is an armorial clasp from which Sir David Salomons’ shrieval chain was suspended.

Gold repeating watch by M. Lepaute fils, Paris, 1795-1825. Gold case, stamped 128. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds and steel loop hands. Signed 'Lepaute'. Fusee movement with plain balance, Robin escapement, ruby endstone and repeating work. Signed on the backplate 'Lepaute 4904', and on the cuvette ‘M. Lepaute fils A Paris 4904’. The maker of this watch is probably Pierre Michel Lepaute who died 1849.

Miniature gold lever watch, 9 mm diameter, with engine-turned back and enamel dial, by Piguet et Meylan, Geneva, Switzerland, 1835-1845. The watch was owned by Her Majesty Queen Mary, wife of King George VI.
