1874-1881

[Drawings and calculations (26 sheets) re the sailing yacht "Jullanar" / E.H. Bentall. ca.1875. Bentall took over his father's agricultural product manufacturing business in 1836, operating as E.H. Bentall & Co. from 1849. In 1885 he launched 'Jullanar' which he had designed and had built at Heybridge Basin. All its metal fittings were made in his Heybridge Works and she was fitted out in nearby Wivenhoe. Its keel set a fashion that was in vogue for many years. A model of it (inv. no. 1897-103) is in the Museum's water transport collection. A listing of the Bentall drawings is available; it covers these, and those at 1955-97 and 1955-99.
