Bliss patent log. "Taffrail log" brass rotator with 4 vanes in 9 1/2" long, one vane engraved "John Bliss and Co." and dates of patent (78,84,85,USA, 85 English). Recording portion for securing to taffrail of ships, brass hook and pin and metal key for bending slitted portion of two vanes
