Right front diagonal section of gutter from padded cell used at Farnborough Hospital, made by Pocock Brothers, 235 Southwark Bridge Road, London, England, 1936-1940. Canvas floor of cell had been fastened to this via double row of nails. Had been lined with lead to channel water out of cell when nurses washed out interior with a hose; small piece of lead is still attached. Broken remnant of low rail used to hold wall panels in place is still attached. Removable end piece allowed for drainage or removal of wall panels.
