Amber glass bottle with white plastic lid containing 50 tablets of Allypropymal (Aprobarbitone) 100 mg tablets. 49 mm 30 mm, 42g. The front printed label with red font reads,'ALLYPROPYMAL/...50 stk./ 100 mg/ aprobarbitone' although it is slightly obscured by an overlaid label from the original pharmacy reading, ''Christianshavns Apotek/ 29 Maj 1985/BF'. There is an additional label on the back with instructions, 'ALLYPROPYMAL TABLETTER/ 100 mg/ Sovemiddel/ 1 tablet ved sovetid'. Distributed by the Christianshavns Apotek in Copenhagen, Denmark, Produced by Dak, 1985.

Two amber glass bottles of aspirin, phenacetin and codeine tablets with bakelite lids. 86mm x 40 mm x 27 mm. Both bottles are labled with a cream printed label with black type face, ' 25/ Compressed tablets/ No. 726/ ASPIRIN/PHENACETIN/AND CODEINE/...Dose: 1 to 2 tablets/...Hounslow near London. One bottle is full of tablets which have become crystallised and weighs 81 g. The other bottle contains only 3 tablets, which are in better condition. Contents indicate the pills would have been used as pain relievers. Phenacetin was one of the first non-opiate analgestics on the market. Made by Parke, Davis and Co., Ltd., English, 1910-1940.

Glass bottle of "Choleflavin" brand (papaverine hydrochloride) pearl pellets in original carton. Carton: 73 mm x 44mm x 28 mm. Yellow carton with maroon borders and blue central text pabel reads, ' 60 pellets/ CHOLEFLAVIN/ Trademark Brand/ Trypaverin/ Bayer Products Ltd./...' The carton contains an oval shaped clear glass bottle with a shiny metalic top which is embossed with the Bayer logo. On the front of the bottle is adhered a printed label, again in yellow and blue, which repeats the information on the front of the carton. The 'pellets' contained within the bottle are spherical and silver in colour. Supplied by Bayer Products Ltd., German, 1930-1940.

A steroid of which production by the adrenal gland declines after the age of 25 and is thus taken as an anti-ageing medicine. Also claimed to be therapeutic for Alzheimer's Disease and obesity (see note). Although it is sold over the counter in the United States, it is considered a controlled drug in the UK.
