Key for station litter bin, powder coated cast aluminium, stainless and galvanised steel, floor or wall mounted, incorporates a unique fire-smothering mechanism, designed by Derek Hodgson Associates who were commissioned by the Director of Architecture and Design at British Rail, to design a new station litter bin in 1988. The PUF Litter Bin, as it was later named, was exhibited in the first exhibition held at the Design Museum at Shad Thames in 1989 and subsequently exhibited by the British Council to promote British design abroad, manufactured by Norse Precision Castings Limited.
