Large photograph album with black lacquered covers. The front is decorated with painting of a garden with figures - the faces and hand are inlaid with ivory. Rear cover has figures of insects and plants in gold. Has 25 leaves with 50 albumen prints 20 x 25cm in size. All hand coloured. Some have numbers and English titles. Show scenes of Japanese life. All pages are decorated with hand painted pictures complementing the subject of the photograph. Tissue interleaving sheets. Originally in padded protective case with is now incomplete. Covered in fabric with word : KTAMAMURA with figures and birds surrounding it.
