'Zeth Raja, aged 55 with his son Aleks, 15 and his wife Zoja, 50, in their apartment in the northern city of Shkodra. Both Zeth and his son have been unable to leave their home in recent months due to their involvement in a blood feud with another family, Should they leave their home they run the risk of being attacked and killed, in revenge for an attack by Zeth, on a member of this other family. 'Ramia Alia, hand picked by Enver Hoxha to continue the path of Marxist-Leninist Communism in Albania took up the post of First Secretary of the Party on Hoxha's death, and in March 1992 after bringing the country out of its self imposed isolation, he resigned 2 days after the parliamentary elections which had swept the Democartic Party to power. 'Born in Southern Albania in 1908 Enver Hoxha became the First Secretary of the Albanian Communist Party in November 1941 and the President of the People's Republic of Albania in 1946, positions he was to hold until his death in 1985. Now as Albania rejects Marxist-Leninist Communism in favour of democracy and capitalism, his statues and other memorials have beeen removed from public display and abandoned - such as the one photographed here in an iron foundry in a rundown area of Tirana.'
