He is positioned sideways in the chair, his left arm resting on the back of the chair and his right arm resting on his right leg. The right leg is bent over the wheel and amputated on the calf, his left leg seen under the wheelchair's arm, is amputated at the knee. His head is looking towards the right-hand side. Horley table study by Paul Drury. Ink sketch on reverse of Ministry of Pensions paper. Sketch is of a horley table, with detailed foot holders or stirrups, detail drawings of which are also found within E2020.0031.126 and 130. The horley table apparatus is the most finished aspect of drawing, with an outline of patient and technicians.

Foreground features image of man sleeping on the bottom bunk, facing left with both hands tucked next to his face. Above him in the foreground we see the bed frame and in the top left, another patient's foot and blanket dangling, however the foot is distinct and different to the other image on a similar theme, E2020.0031.31. In the midground are three further patients, one lying asleep with his bandaged, amputated right arm resting outside the sheets. Two more are leaning up in bed, one (on left) appears to have a bandage aroud his head. More figures and bunks can be seen in the background. Squared off in ink.

In the Shelter, drawing, by Paul Drury. Drawing depicting approximately 20 figures sitting and standing in an air raid shelter. The view shows a low ceilinged but open space, with square columns and beams. In the foreground are six figures with their backs towards the viewer, a figure on the right hand side has his left leg outstretched in a bandage and a bag placed at the end of his foot. Next to him is a figure with his hand to his mouth, crutches resting on the wall next to him. The midground and background feature different groups of figures standing and siting. One prominent figure on the left-hand midground is stood leaning to one side in a light coloured jacket and hat. Paper has been scored and folded on right side.
