Test-tube shaped thimble moulds for forming paper filters (2 parts), c. 1960. Handle of mould with mesh has vacuum attachment point. It was put into a bath of paper fibres, water sucked out by vacuum and thimble blown off mould with air. Solid mould then used to remove any dents made by operator's fingers in wet paper before drying thimbles on a rack in an oven.
