Gilt locket with 14 miniature photos of celebrities

A hand-coloured daguerreotype portrait of a man, taken by an unknown photographer in about 1850 and encased in a gold locket. The exterior of the gold locket includes an intricate engraving of flowers and leaves, and the dedication 'FCB to EMB, Jan'y 5th 1855'. The locket also contains a lock of hair, presumably belonging to FCB, encased within the inside of locket cover. The head and shoulders portrait of a formally dressed man is hand tinted, the background a light blue.

85x95mm light brown union case, both sides having flower and scroll design. Dark red satin inside lining to lid. Containing oval locket with glass cover with three pieces of hair arranged in design. Locket embedded in dark red velvet pad outlined with dark red cord.

Oval locket, 32 x 26mm, made of gilt brass engraved with a flower motif. Initials J.A.F. Contains two albumen prints, on of a half length portrait of a woman and the other of the head and shoulders of a young man.
