Renaux motor tricycle, 1899. Made and designed by M. Renaux in 1899. It achieved notoriety by coming first in the 1899 Paris to St Malo motorcycle race averaging 31.25 mph and beating many of the popular De Dion motor tricycles. The Autocar magazine held the engine of the Renaux motor-tricycle in high esteem featuring a detailed article on its design and workings. Though privately made the motor-tricycle was soon picked up by manufactures, Marshall & Co. for mass production. Renaux Motor Tricycle, 1899 1899
