Combined Voltmeter and Ammeter. Brass cased free standing combined ammeter and voltmeter. Range 0-5 amps, 0-6 volts. Range selection by two push levers, used on bench test set.

Combined Voltmeter and Ammeter

Polarised iron ammeter no. 532. Rectangular box on wooden base which has two terminals. Top of the box is clear perspex, showing an ampere scale 0-60 both sides of centre-zero. A permanent magnet has a tubular coil between pole pieces and the moving magnet is pivoted in the middle of the coil, indicating via a pointer attached to the same spindle.

Linesman's detector. Rectangular box with circular dial at the front. Three terminals and brass ring on top. Catch on left side opens back to show two fixed coils wound with blue material. Magnetizing needle drawn into coils when a current is passed through them, indicating strength and direction of the current. Scale is marked 0-90 both sides of centre-zero.

Linesman's detector

Edison and Swan linesman's detector no. 25343. Small rectangular box, housing coil. Circular dial at fron of box with scale and needle pointer. Three terminals on top of meter, two of which are marked I (for intensity) and Q (for quantity). Brass carrying ring.
