Replica fuel element for Jason reactor. The real fuel element is an aluminium box (as is the dummy) but the 16 fuel plates are made of 80% enriched U235 clad in an aluminium skin. This makes the actual fuel element much heavier than the dummy. The dummy fuel element was used in demonstrations for training men at the Naval college and for showing to visitors. Made 1958-1959.
