Prepared by Burroughs Wellcome and Co., London, 1925-1960.

Seven of twelve 2.15 ml ampoules of pethidine hydrochloride, some of which contain traces of the substance, in their original box. Pethedine is a fast acting opioid analgesic which is still used by some doctors today. The small ampoules have blue lettering stamped in the glass which reads, ' POISON D.D.A./2.15 ml/ PETHIDINE/ hydrochloride/ Roche/ 100 mg. in 2 ml'. Exterior box is labeled on the front with red and green labels, ' .../Twelve 2.15 ml. AMPOULES/ PETHIDINE/ 'Roche'/ Each 2 ml contains/ 100mg./...' There are also hand written notes on the back of the box, possibly by a doctor, dated in the late 1960s. Produced by Roche Products Ltd., Welwyn c.1968
