Microphone boom trolley or chariot for use in film studios, manufactured by Mole Richardson Ltd mid twentieth century. Type 175A, serial number 2. Tricycle arrangement, twin wheels at rear and two single wheels at front. The microphone boom and perambulator were designed to quietly follow the action on a television or film set. The microphone can be extended and retracted with one hand and the microphone rotated 320° with the other hand. The width of the front wheel on the perambulator can be adjusted - narrower for moving around, or wider for extra stability when in use.
