Carbon transfer print of old houses in Aldgate, London, by Henry Dixon. Inscription print in ink along bottom of print. Japoniste outlines around print edge. Taken for the Society for Photographing Relics of Old London. The Society for Photographing Relics of Old London (SPROL) was set up to record historical buildings threatened with demolition. There are 120 carbon prints in the series, published between 1875 and 1886.
