Comprises, in the first part, 'a Table or Index ... wherein each Custom of the Miners on Mendipp is to be found' and, in the second part, 'the Tenants Remembrancer, Containing ... an Abstract of the Customs of the Manor of Wells in the County of Somerset' and 'a Presentment for the said Manor'. Bears note, signed by H.T. De La Beche 'transcribed from a copy, apparently contemporary with the original, once in possession of the Bishop of Bath and Wells']

Watercolour, Making a cutting, by George Childs, 1841. Depicts the view looking down a cutting towards a wooden viaduct and an oncoming locomotive in the distance. At left are horses and spoil wagons, where navvies are extending the cutting with picks and shovels to accommodate a new line. The track appears to be broad gauge, and the scene is possibly the Great Western Railway between Bath and Bristol. Signed and dated by the artist at bottom right.
