Gelatin silver print entitled 'Liverpool 8 March 1969. Mr & Mrs O lived with their 3 children on the first floor of his mothers condemned house. Mr O was unemployed and had been forced to give up his new council flat in Kirkby because he could not afford the rent. They had lived in rooms, but the landlord had harassed Mrs O and threatened the children physically, so that they moved into his mother's house. The council withdrew their offer of rehousing Mrs O's mother until Mr O and family moved out of her condemned home'. Photograph by Nick Hedges.

Gelatin silver print entitled 'Mr T lived alone in a single room of a multi-let house. It is very damp and in poor repair. His pattern of life was revealing. OAPs had free passes at off-peak periods. This, too, kept him warm for nothing'. Photograph by Nick Hedges.
