A plain question! Requiring a plain and positive answer. At the purchase of the Old Whitby and Pickering Railway by Mr. Hudson for the company - Was it not a part of the bargain that Mr. Hudson should never be opposed by Mr. Chapman or his party?' and continues with an appeal to support Hudson for Parliament and not to 'be deceived by the representatives of any parties'. Reverse bears a printed adhesive stamp from the British Transport Commission (BTC) Historical Relics Section, Railway Museum, York, featuring the manuscript text and BTC reference code 1871/58.
