Journal of Thomas Williams, who worked at Birkenhead Locomotive Depot. Mr. Williams worked as an engine cleaner from when he started on the railways in Oct. 1915, to Aug. 1921, when he was promoted to fireman. He later became a driver. The journal is tablulated and records the hours he worked, what locos he worked on, the journey or job, his wages, leave, accidents, holidays etc.
