Associated Press photograph titled 'Sir Laurence comes home'. Caption on back reads: British stage star Sir Laurence Olivier (seen on stretcher in inset) is hoisted aboard the liner Corinthic at Wellington, New Zealand, to begin his journey home with the Old Vic company after their successfulo tour, October 16. A few days previously Sir Laurence had undergonre a knee operation and was unable to walk. At one stage he was exposed to rain as he lay on the stretcher before being hoisted aborad; a woman stepped forward hurriedly from the crowd to hold an umbrella over him.
