Letter from Charles Cory Aldred, surgeon at Great Yarmouth and later mayor, to Alfred Swaine Taylor
Thanking Taylor for his opinion regarding the Yaxley murder trial at which Aldred gave evidence.
The Yaxley murder trial in Great Yarmouth concerned the drowning of a 14-month old girl named Lavinia Kerrison, apparently committed by Charlotte Yaxley, the new wife of the child’s father. Charlotte Yaxley was found guilty and sentenced to transportation for life.
