Parsons' motor-driven Auxetophone complete, attached to a gramophone to intensify the sound waves, with one spare soundbox. The Auxetophone is a compressed air gramophone invented by Sir Charles Parsons.
Wooden cupboard, small plaque on front reads ‘C A Parsons Co, Engineers, Newcastle Upon Tyne’, two rotating metal catches for door, with cast detail. Motor within cupboard, with rubber tubing and bellows, crank on side of cabinet.
Turntable for Parsons’ motor-driven Auxetaphone. Wooden, with green felt top, wooden body with carved decoration. Cast iron attachments, including switches and arm with black and gold detail. Gold coloured plaque with cherubim logo for ‘The Gramophone & Typewriter Ltd, Finsbury Square, London’.
