Artificial hand, wood, with leather arm cover, moveable fingers, European, 1880-1920

Leather straps and rings strap this wooden artificial hand to the forearm and elbow. The fingers are carved with fingernails and palm lines. Each has three joints. This allows them to be physically moved into different positions. The hand was worn for aesthetic reasons rather than practical ones.
