Clear glass, circle based bottle with cork stopper and paper label. To contain approximately 1/2 ounce of Dionin brand of ethylmorphine hydrochloride. This preparation has intermediate effects between morphine and codeine and is indicated to th ecough in bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and whooping cough (pertussis) but is inferior to diamorphine. It is also sometimes employed in the treatment of ulcers and cancers of the stomach and bowel, where morphine causes nausea. It is employed in practise as an analgesic in corneal ulceration, iritis and glaucoma. Dionin is a registered brand name of Merck of Darmstadt and Napp of London.
