Cardboard box, lined with corrugated card. The box contains a glass bottle with plasticpop lid and paper label. This is a professional sample of 30 Phenaglate brand capsules consisting of the active ingredients quinalbarbitone sodium, and megimide. Quinalbarbitone and phenobarbitone are both sedatives and 'megamide' is the Nicholas brand of 'bemegride' (beta-ethyl-beta-methylglutarimide) which is a respiritory stimulant possibly included to counteract the depressent action on respiratory system by the strong doses of barbitone in the capsules. Bemegride has been linked to attacks of porphyria and is not suitable for porphyric patients.
