Locomotive worksplate

Locomotive Worksplate, "A. Barclay & Son Engineers Kilmarnock No 258, 1883", cast brass, oval, 0-4-0 saddle tank locomotive, outside cylinders, ordered by John Wallace & Co., Glasgow, but sent to Ireland & Co., for use on the Fairlie-Largs Line, 1883-85, line opened 1st June 1885, purchased by Glasgow & South Western Railwayin 1885 as No. 291, renumbered to 734, allocated London Midland & Scottish No. 6042 - never carried, from 1894 used as Kilmarnock Works shunter, rebuilt in 1889 & 1914, scrapped July 1925.
